Dear Readers:
It was a source of great nachas/pride to me, that for several years, the thousands of readers of this website worldwide were able to maintain the type of respectful discussions, which permitted me to allow unscreened comments to be posted online immediately. However, increasingly over the past few weeks, several people have been posting inappropriate comments that offended many readers, and dragged down the tenor of the dialogue on the site.
In light of that, we have been working with our web designer to move the website to moderated comments only. That process is now in effect. It is my plan to give a number of (volunteer) readers around the globe access codes, which will allow them to review the comments as they are submitted and post them as quickly as possible. (You will note when uploading your comment that the automated message still says, “Your comment has been posted,” but the comment will not actually appear until it has been screened.)
Please feel free to volunteer to screen comments by emailing cbecker@rabbihorowitz.com. Please include your name and address, any pertinent background information, a reference or two, and a phone number where you can be reached. I would appreciate your assistance with this, if you can spare the time.
We have a wonderful group of readers and contributors and thousands of email subscribers worldwide, and I would like to continue to have a free and open exchange of ideas. I will give a wide berth to those who are critical of my writings and views, but we will not post comments that are disrespectful to our gedolim and rabbonim shlit”a or where inappropriate language is used.
