Subject: Educating Your Children about Abuse Prevention Really Does Work
This past June, I conducted a Project YES parenting webinar, designed to help parents speak to their children about personal space and abuse prevention before sending their kids go off to summer camp.
Nearly two months later in mid-August, I received a phone call from a woman who was sobbing as she thanked me for saving her son's life. He and a friend were each separately approached in camp by an adult who was attempting to molest them. Her son, having been trained by his mother, who got this information from our parenting webinar, began hollering at the top of his lungs, ran away and was saved, while his friend was badly molested. (FYI; I told the parents to go directly to the police and report the incident, as I always do with cases of child abuse.)
I mention this to share with you the very real fact that teaching your children simple safety rules can quite literally save them from warped pedophiles and spare them a lifetime of pain and suffering.
If there is any obligation that parents have to their children that is more important than this, I can't think of what that could be. And this can be conveyed to children in a perfectly tzniyusdik manner with no inappropriate content whatsoever.
If you value the menuchas hanefesh of your children's lives, I strongly encourage you to join our free Project YES parenting phone conference this Thursday evening, February 11th from 9:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. EST by dialing in to the conference line at (712)432-1001 and enter the access code: 482469604#
