Hester Panim – When Our Father’s Divine Presence is Hidden

Megilas Eicha Teleconference Shiur

Dear Readers:

Once again, this year, we will be conducting a teleconference call tonight at 10:15 pm EDT beginning with a Shiur, as a service to mothers who are home with their children, and for people who are homebound and are unable to go to Shul.

Here is a link to listen to the MP3 of Last Year’s Eicha Shiur which was on the topic of the timeless call of our Neviim (prophets) to stand with the weak and be a voice for the voiceless – with special emphasis on why the Torah mandates that we stand with and support victims of abuse.

This year’s Eicha Shiur will be about Hester Panim (a term used to denote a time when Hashem’s Shechina is hidden from us) with emphasis on the terrible tragedies we have been seeing and hearing about from Eretz Yisroel.

How do we process these events and what are our “take-away” lessons from these challenging times?

The call will begin at 10:15 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time with approximately 15-20 minutes of Torah thoughts on Tisha B'Av - related topics, followed by the reading of Eicha

This teleconference is dedicated in loving memory of my dear father, Reb Shlomo Zev ben Reb Baruch Yehudah a”h whose Yahrtzeit is the 7th of Av. May the ze'chusim generated by this mitzvah be a ze'chus for his neshama.

Dial-in Number:

(209)647-1600

Access Code: 827269

The Shiur was recorded.
