Haazinu
Haazinu assists the hearing-impaired child from the initial diagnoses of hearing impairment (which can be as early as six months of age) through the child's completion of college. Haazinu's involvement often begins by helping parents cope with the
devastating news that their child is hearing-impaired. Haazinu ensures that the parents receive all of the emotional support they require and that therapy is started and hearing aids obtained as early as possible. When required, Haazinu assists in helping a hearing-impaired child become accepted into a mainstream setting that the parents select - whether it is a playgroup, yeshiva, Bais Yaakov, or day-school. Haazinu often arranges meetings between frightened principals and teachers and speech therapists or knowledgeable parents to ease any unnecessary fears.
